Our yearly visit...

to the hospital that is!!! Yep...every year to year and a half, Curtis gets injured in some way, shape, or form, and we have to make our way to the ER!

Curtis was about due for injury...so it was no big surprise. So, what did he do, you ask? Well, I've included some pics so you can see for yourself! (Not for the weak stomached!)

Curtis tore his leg open right before his flag football game a couple weeks ago. He had to borrow his brother Kyle's cleats. Curtis, being the Superman that he is, thought he could run on concrete in hard plastic cleats. Well, never try this at home! Only soft plastic cleats grip on the concrete. Curtis learned this the hard way! His feet went out from underneath him and he slid right into the corner of a metal bench!

He thought it was just a scratch...only hurt for a second...and his pants were fine. Little did he know, that when he decided to actually take a look to make sure it was just a scratch, he'd have a huge hole in his leg!

He found a guy w/ prewrap and tape and just covered it up. I got to the game and he was out there limping and you could see a little bit of blood on the tape. I had to wait until almost half time before I got to find out what had happened.

Curtis informed me that it might have been to the bone...so we called Uncle Ryan (general surgeon in the fam) and asked him what to do. Uncle Ryan noted that he would definitely need stitches...and possibly surgery (if it was really to the bone)! Luckily, it wasn't to the bone. So we went and had it cleaned out and stitched. Now he has four very large stitches in his leg...he'll have an amazing scar...and a good war story! :)
