A Hot Southern Mess

Though the temperatures no longer seem to breaching 115 degrees...the heat is still making this a hellish place to live.  You can't go outside without sweating...and you don't have to be doing anything to cause it.  If you try to work outside or be active, you're drenched...you look like you just had the most intense workout at the gym, with nothing but sweat to show for it!  (Well, and maybe a sunburn!)  Ha-ha!

You try to stay indoors...anywhere that has A/C.  And you drink tons of water.  Because, if you don't, you feel like you are going to die of heat stroke or something of that nature.  It makes you want to hibernate for the summer...lay dormant...until the beautiful weather comes along where you can tolerate being outside again.  Pretty much the reverse of how people feel with winter and snow in other places.  (Yet, I would take the snow and the cold any day over 120 degree summer days.) Then you have to work off your "summer fat" from being inactive, even though, technically, bikini season is over by then.

There's No Place Like "Home" For The Holidays

After 1 1/2 years and what will be our fifth move in that time (well, sixth for me)...we are settling in to Arizona and buying ourselves a home!

Our new home is a spec home being built in the lovely little town of Queen Creek (one of Phoenix's many little suburbs).  It is a beautiful 3 bedroom, 2 bath home...boasting a spacious 2,365 square feet.  A few of our favorite features in this home include a large 3-door sliding glass door to the back yard, a double car garage along with a separate single car garage (which be utilized for Curtis' Auto D.R. business - yea!), the large rooms, and the spacious floor plan.

We close December 27th!!! Such a great way to bring in the New Year...with a New Home!!!!

Warrior Dash AZ 2012

The Warrior Dash was an amazing obstacle course mud run that I was able to participate in with one of my friends, Mandy, here in AZ.  It was a 3.3 mile run with walls to climb, tires to run through, junked cars to run and climb over, steep slides, fire to jump over, and a very muddy, wet pool that you had to climb under barbed wire in. It was almost 100 degrees outside...and running in sopping wet, muddy shoes isn't easy.  But, I had a blast!!!

This race was also an opportunity to raise money for St Jude's Children's Hospital.  I was able to raise over $400 personally (thank you everyone who donated to this wonderful cause!)!  All of the fundraising participant warriors combined in this race were able to raise over $40,000 total!!!  Isn't that amazing?!  Just one location raised so much!!!  I'm so happy to say I was able to be a part of it!

Phoenix Suns

Well, we finally made our way over to some Phoenix Suns basketball games!  Two nights in a row, even!

The first night it was just Curtis and I at the Phoenix Suns vs. Minnesota Timberwolves.  We were able to get a feel for the venue and the concessions...so, the second night, we could appear to be seasoned ticket holders when my sister and her husband joined us.  (Hee-hee!)

The second night it was the Phoenix Suns vs. LA Clippers.  Curtis was disappointed that we didn't get to see the Gorilla (Phoenix Suns Mascott) do any of his dunk tricks, but the games were great!  Not to mention that the Suns won both of those games (of course, because we were there)! :)

Tons of fun having my sister and her husband here visiting for a short weekend...hanging out with us too!!
