Jus Convention - Wow!

I had the opportunity to go to SLC for a convention for our side business, Jus International. It was absolutely amazing!!!

Jus gave away tons of free merchandise! They gave away 4 cruises! And a car!!! (Unfortunately, I was not the lucky number for any of those.) :(

The meetings were informative and fantastic! The people were all great! And the Gala dinner was simply amazing! I wish I could've taken every single person I know with me! Not only would people be amazed at the product and want to try it...but, I think everybody, after meeting Rick Durham (Jus Chairman), would want & love to work for a guy like him!

There were even people there from Japan and the Netherlands! How cool is that?!

I also got the chance to visit good friends while I was there! It was so great to see Mary & Kelly (& the kids & David & Anna & Lucy)! Brett! And Adam! (P.S. Adam...you're new pad is a total magnet for chicks! I love it!) :) Kaylyn...thanks for letting me crash at your place even though you were out of town! You're the best! I totally miss you guys!

And in between getting lost in downtown SLC...listening to Brett be "realistic" about the Boise State vs. Fresno State game(I still love ya Brett!)...and only having a short amount of time to spend there...it was well worth the trip!!! Wish I could've spent more time in SLC to hang out with friends though!

Memorial Day

Memorial Day weekend kept us running...for shelter, that is! We decided to go camping for Memorial Day weekend and invited the fam to come along. Kyle & Katie took us up on the offer and we packed up and headed up towards Trail Creek (past Horshoe Bend). Unfortunately, we didn't leave until Saturday, so all the spots in the campground we wanted were taken. So, we kept driving until we found something else.

With our luck, we didn't make it to another campground before we had problems! Curtis's truck overheated climbing the windy, dirt mountain road! Not fun! Luckily the view was beautiful when it first did it. (Yep...when it first did it...that means it happened again...and again...and did I mention it happened again after that!)

After many hours in the truck, we finally found an open campsite! A big, beautiful spot, with a gazebo covering the picnic table and a firepit with 3 benches around it! We were surprised to find the best spot in the campground hadn't been taken! So, we happily jumped out of the truck and started setting up camp.

Right about the time we started putting the tent poles through the tent, it started raining...no...pouring! We scurried to get everything out of the back of the truck and under the gazebo, while Kyle bravely stood in the pouring rain in his t-shirt and shorts, holding up the only part of the tent that had been set up thus far. We hurried to try to get the tent upright when crazy wind gusts burst through our camp! The almost then set up tent, tried to blow over and poles were bent and broken!!! So, we set up as much of the tent as we could. (Did I mention the zipper to the front door was broken too?! Luckily there was another door inside we could close to keep the wet out!)

It ended up raining almost the whole weekend. But, we were able to roast s'mores! And we even cooked steaks!!! (Curtis knows how to cook a mean "steak on a stick" over the campfire!) :) The boys did some tree tippin', while Katie & I hiked. Katie showed the boys up at shooting pop cans with a bee-bee gun. And the trip home was a blast!! (Picture Kyle, Katie, Curtis, & I...crammed in a Dodge Dakota...trying to beatbox...and getting it on video...then all of us dancing & singing to whatever CD's we could find. Are you laughing yet? 'Cause you should be!)

What a trip! Definitely one we'll probably never forget!

(If you look at the pics closely...you'll notice I didn't get the "wear a yellow shirt" memo! Too funny!) :)

Mother's Day

We were lucky enough to have my mom, sister (& my cute lil' niece), and brother come visit for Mother's day weekend. They came up Saturday and the guys went golfing. Then we all headed out to Wahooz for a friendly miniature golf tournament.

Mom and Jeremy both landed an amazing hole in one! And I conquered the tournament with my amazing putting skills! :) By the time we got to the 18th hole, they had shut the cool fire throwing tiki off...so the finale to our game was a bit dull.

We had alot of fun while they were here though and I have tons of cute new pics of my adorable lil' six month old niece!

Then on Sunday (after my fam had left), we went and had Mother's day lunch with Linda (Curtis's mom) and the family at Kyle & Katie's place. Our cute lil' niece, Halle, decided she couldn't get enough of the strawberries and sugar, so she took me by the finger to the table. We got her a fork and dipped her strawberry in the sugar. When that one was gone, she wanted another. When she had finally finished off the strawberries, she decided that dipping the fork itself in the sugar was good too!

We have the cutest nieces!

(Aaagghh! I just tried to add my pictures and I'm missing a ton of pics! My external hard drive hit full status with the downloading of this set of pictures...it must not have had room for all of them and I deleted them off of the camera!!! I'm missing tons of cute Cassi & Halle pics! I wish you could've seen the ones of Halle eating the strawberries! I've learned my lesson! Never delete things until you know you have them for sure! I'm so sad!)

Scout Leader...

Well...Curtis has received his new calling! He is now a scout leader! Yep! A scout leader. He has the 11 year old scouts. Right now there is only 2 of them (since our ward split), but there will be more coming in throughout the year.

We had to get Curtis a scout handbook...he has to get a shirt...patches...all the good stuff. He has scout activities (or whatever they call them) on Wednesdays now...and his boys aren't old enough to go on campouts yet...but, he's still got his hands full. It will be fun to watch him take on this new role! I think his scouts are going to love him!
