Are you counting down?!?! We are!!! Two more days! And then we'll know what our sweet little Jelly Bean is! We can't wait!!!
Our ultrasound is scheduled for Thursday, followed by a Dr's appointment on Friday. The ultrasound tech comes to our house and hooks his equipment up to our TV so we get to watch everything on the big screen!
Right now, the vote seems to be at a pretty even 50/50 on whether Jelly Bean is a boy or a girl. (This includes votes outside the blog.) According to the Chinese gender chart, it's a boy. Other people say it's a girl because I've had some small breakouts...and supposedly little girls steal your beauty. I'm not showing enough to tell if I'm carrying high or low...so we can't use that wives tale. So, it will be interesting to see what the result ends up being!

4 Months Now! Almost Half-Way There!
Wow! Can you believe I am already 4 months along! It all goes by so fast! We are almost half-way there already! Unbelievable!
Our baby is now the size of an avacado (about 4.6 inches long and weighs about 3.5 ounces). Our little Jelly Bean is forming tiny bones in it's ears, making it possible for it to hear our voices now! (I keep hoping Curtis will start singing to it! I'd love for our baby to have his beautiful singing voice!) They say because of this, the baby will recognize our voices after it's born. The baby is also growing hair, eyelashes, and eyebrows. And forming taste buds! Such a busy week for baby!
I am continually growing. It's fun and crazy at the same time to see my body changing as the baby grows! I am still always tired, but have a lot more energy than in my first trimester. My appetite is growing. And my hunger is more frequent. Still, no major cravings. Although, a bowl of cereal always sounds good to me - day or night. (But, for anyone that knows me really well, I was that way before I ever got pregnant. Ha-ha! Curtis has always teased me that I need a larger bowl for my cereal - like a mixing bowl!) I am still getting migraines and smaller headaches, but they are tolerable. My sense of smell continues to be heightened as I get further along. And I am experiencing quite a few more cramps and pains as the baby and I grow. I don't notice the baby moving yet, but know that that will be changing in the weeks to come.

Week 15
It's week 15! Baby is now the size of a naval orange! And it's squirming a ton (I just can't feel it yet)!
Not much else has changed over the last week, but I thought I'd share a little funny...compliments of my sweet little sister, Tiff. :)

Dr's Appt #2 and Week 14 Update
Today was Dr's appt #2! And things are still great! My lab tests came back good. And the baby's heartbeat is strong and good! (It's heartbeat sounds like a racehorse it's so fast!!!)
The Dr answered our questions...like, do they have medication for the husband that helps w/ "irritable wife" syndrome?! And he told us what to expect at our next visit.
AND...we get to schedule our ultrasound for around three weeks out...to find out what gender the baby is!!! (And, of course, the important medical stuff they look at to make sure the baby is fine and healthy too! That's important!) :)

On the pregnancy side of things...I am 14 weeks yesterday and starting to show. The baby is supposed to be the size of a lemon this week and sucking its' thumb(s) and wiggling its' toes. Amazing that so many things can be happening without ever knowing it or feeling it!
I am starting to get a little bit of energy back, but I still LOVE my sleep (and can never seem to get enough)! My migraines aren't as long or frequent, but still happen often. Along w/ smaller almost daily headaches. I have been lucky so far, not to experience any real morning sickness throughout this pregnancy. But, I do get carsick w/ my pregnancy...whether I'm the passenger, or the driver...and I've never had a problem w/ this before. (My commute to work has made for some very rough days.)
I'm starting to experience small pains and cramps occasionally, but the Dr said that is normal as I am growing and my body is stretching to make room for the baby. Smells do get to me...especially smelly feet...body odor...food does too, but it's not as bad as the other smells. Ha-ha! I haven't had any real strong cravings yet. Occasionally something might sound good, but I'm not dieing to have it and could live w/out it if we don't have it (and I wouldn't have the energy to go get it if I did!). I have found that foods are more unappealing to me right now. Certain foods just don't look or sound good. While others do sound good and are very satisfying (like Cocoa Cap'n Crunch cereal - thanks for leaving some behind Cade!). And foods that I usually love, don't look good to me at all.
Whether something sounds good or not, this baby makes me feel sick if I don't feed it frequently throughout the day (a slight nauseous feeling starts to set in if I go too long w/out food - which is hard w/ my job since I don't have breaks between my patients). I have a smaller tolerance for things than I normally do and grow impatient more quickly. I tell people that I'm not just growing a baby, I seem to be growing two little devil's horns too! (I'm not worried whether or not I'll survive this pregnancy...I'm worried about whether Curtis will survive it or not!) ;)
No matter what we go through during this new phase in life...we are both so very excited to welcome a little baby into the world! And into our family! Here's to the many, many fun and exciting weeks ahead! And a lifetime of new adventures with a little one of our own!
